WELCOME TO DEERFIELD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Welcome to Deerfield Elementary School! I am looking forward to giving the educational support necessary for Deerfield Elementary School to continue providing excellence and equity in our children’s education. Educating the youth of Deerfield is a responsibility shared by all of us. Staff, students, parents, and community working together provides an optimum learning environment. We pride ourselves in our dedication to education, our high level of parent support and recognizing the individuality of each child while striving to provide children with opportunities to develop to the best of their ability.

We are particularly proud of our four-year kindergarten program in Deerfield. The first two years of this program were very successful, and we are very happy to give our youngest students a positive and fun foundation as they begin their academic careers! We are also continuing our curriculum initiatives in spelling and writing through the 6 +1 Traits of Writing framework and the Sitton Spelling program. Our staff is putting in many hours of professional development time towards improving student achievement to make sure our students are receiving the best academic support possible. Our Spotlight on Character program will also continue to expand this year, giving students even more opportunities to show that good character does count and is an important part of their academic experience.
